Ashish Manchanda Nominated for a GRAMMY for Producing & Engineering Mary Dawood Catlin’s “Hope” (Orchestrated)
Mumbai / Los Angeles — The Media Tribe Institute is proud to announce that renowned producer and engineer Ashish Manchanda has been nominated for a GRAMMY for his work as producer on Mary Dawood Catlin’s Hope Orchestrated.
This nomination marks a major milestone not only in Ashish’s celebrated career, but also in the growing global recognition of Indian music professionals working at the highest international standards.
Ashish Manchanda’s journey has been defined by rare depth, global exposure, and an unwavering commitment to sonic excellence. In his early years, Ashish worked with the legendary Bruce Swedien, widely regarded as one of the most influential recording engineers in modern music history.

That formative period placed Ashish in proximity to the ecosystem of artists and creators who shaped the sound of a generation — including Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones — giving him first-hand experience of what it takes to create recordings at the highest level of craft and musical intention.
Over the years, Ashish has become one of India’s most respected music producers and engineers, working across film, orchestral, contemporary, and independent music.
His work in India includes collaborations with some of the country’s most celebrated musicians and composers, including Ranjit Barot and A.R. Rahman, along with landmark projects that helped define a new era in Indian sound and storytelling.

Among the standout works associated with Ashish’s career are major modern classics such as:
Amit Trivedi’s Dev D
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Rockstar
MTV Coke Studio
MTV Unplugged
These projects not only shaped popular culture, but also raised the bar for production and recording quality in Indian cinema and music.
In addition to his work on film and large-scale productions, Ashish has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of India’s independent music ecosystem.
Long before “indie music” became a mainstream category in India, Ashish was actively working with artists who were building a new identity for Indian music outside of film. His collaborations with leading independent acts have helped set the sonic benchmark for modern Indian independent records.
Ashish has worked with several of India’s most influential independent artists and bands, including:
The Local Train
Alif
Abhijeet Srivastava
Raghu Dixit
Agam
He has pioneered creating opportunities for talent on both sides of the globe and continues to create path-breaking prospects for artists. His collaborations have resulted in chart-busting songs, paving the way for artists to shine on the global stage. His contribution to the independent space has been widely recognized as a defining part of India’s modern music story.
Ashish Manchanda’s GRAMMY nomination for Hope Orchestrated represents more than personal recognition. It reflects a growing shift in the global music industry — one where Indian producers, engineers, and songwriters are increasingly visible in international music spaces, including Los Angeles. With Ashish now continuing to expand his work internationally, this moment stands as a powerful symbol for the next generation of Indian music makers aspiring to build careers on the global stage.

During his stay, Shaurya also worked closely with The Media Tribe’s Principal Faculty, Aman Moroney, where he got to write and produce songs for his upcoming artist project — an experience aligned with the award’s mission of helping young Indian creators build real pathways into the global music ecosystem.
